Amöbe Vals
Situated Artistic Encounters

Operating since autumn 2019, Amöbe Vals is an independent art space and residency rooted in the Valsertal. Located beside the post office in the centre of Vals, it is a place of comings and goings—of spontaneous creation, experimentation, artistic research, and exchange.

Its changing installations and interventions grow through long-term collaborations and sustained cultural engagement with the valley. Two large windows open these processes to the village, while exhibitions, workshops, conversations, events, and a library of art and research books create opportunities for participation and exchange.

Amöbe Lab
Established in 2025, Amöbe Lab offers artists and cultural practitioners time and space to pursue site-responsive, practice-based inquiry without requiring a predetermined outcome. Their work may take form through installation, performance, writing, walking, conversation, collective practice, or forms not yet known.

The Lab extends beyond the art space and into the valley. Artists are accommodated at Leis 202 or elsewhere in Vals, depending on the residency.

Open by appointment and for events.
